For Nicole, who gave me a third of her life

Nic hon, I love ya. I know that doesn't mean a whole lot at times, but I do. I'm glad that you came into my life a decade ago. you're the best. This blog is for you. We used to dance to this and laugh. I always thought that at 64 you would be the one next to me. Thanks you for loving me...you always did and I was a lucky man for it.

When I get older losing my hair
Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings, bottle of wine?
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?

You'll be older too
And if you say the word
I could stay with you

I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride
Doing the garden, digging the weeds
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?

Every summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wight
If it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck & Dave

Send me a postcard, drop me a line
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?
Ho!

This is so strange, you're the second person I know who's put this song in their blog this month. Wonder what that's about.

Weird. I posted this because today would have been my ten year anniversary with Nicole. It's a sentimental song for me.

We used to laugh and sing this one back when we were kids.

I hadn't thought about it for years until I was thinking what I should write about this day. I could have droned on for hours about this or that.

This song says it all.
